TroopFest 2010 at Neto's — FAQs
|
Is TroopFest a political event, since it is being held on 9-11?
Operation: Care and Comfort is not a political organization. We are holding
this event on 9-11 to hold the Freedom Walk (as started by the Pentagon after 9-11) and
to show our support of our troops, home and overseas.
What about tickets for TroopFest 2010 at Neto's?
Your $10 ticket to TroopFest not only supports Operation: Care and Comfort,
but gives you a BBQ lunch at TroopFest, and one entry into the TroopFest raffle!
All proceeds will help pay mailing costs for Christmas/holiday packages to our deployed
troops, and will help support local military families. Tickets are available at Neto's,
through American Legion halls in Santa Clara and San Jose, and tickets will be sold at
Operation: Care and Comfort events starting with PackingPalooza! Check out events page
for details!
http://www.operationcareandcomfort.org/occevents
.
Is there a special ticket price for the military?
All tickets for TroopFest 2010 at Neto's are $10. However, all those who identify themselves
as military service members (by showing their military ID) when they purchase their tickets
at the event will receive a special thank you prize gift at the event, including sports
tickets, team hats, etc. while supplies last!
Are tickets to TroopFest 2010 at Neto's tax deductible?
Your contribution is tax deductible, as allowable by law.
Is there a charge to participate in the Freedom Walk?
The Freedom Walk and all events for TroopFest are free. Tickets are being sold for
the BBQ lunch and raffle, and all proceeds support Operation: Care and Comfort.
We encourage organizations such as scout troops, veterans service organizations, etc.
to participate and bring your banner so we know who you are! The Freedom Walk begins
at Neto's at 10:00 am.
The route is one mile long (see map) and we will be following members of the Santa Clara PD
and FD, as well as military members. We will have nurses and volunteers stationed along
the walk route. The walk route will be closed at noon, where we will all meet at
Neto's for a ceremony by the Mayor of Santa Clara, and the Police and
Fire Departments.
The music and other events will begin upon the completion of the short ceremony.
Click Here to view the route of Freedom Walk.
What should I wear?
TroopFest 2010 at Neto's will be held outdoors. Casual attire with comfortable
shoes for dancing is recommended, along with a light jacket or sweater for the
evening, in case it gets chilly. Sunscreen and hats are recommended!
Where is Neto's located?
Neto's is located in downtown Santa Clara.
Neto's Market and Grill
1313 Franklin Street
Santa Clara, CA
Where should I park?
Street parking is available as well as parking lots in the area.
What's for lunch?
Neto's is preparing an outdoor BBQ lunch for those who purchase a ticket to
TroopFest. This includes a BBQ sandwich, chips, and a beverage provided by the
Coca Cola Company. Want something different? Your meal ticket will give you $5 towards
an entrée item from the Neto's menu inside!
Are there raffle prize drawings?
Your TroopFest 2010 at Neto's ticket includes one entry into our prize drawings. You need not be present to win and winners will be notified by phone!
